Hi Mrs. Johnson! The speech is for a contest–there were very few guidelines for this speech. The topic is “Why me? Why not!” The speech length is four to five minutes long. (These were the only guidelines we were given.) This is a very open-ended assignment, and I am looking forward to seeing what the students come up with. I will be basing students’ grades upon effort and participation (if a student tries and follow the guidelines, he or she can make a good grade–a 100). This assignment gets students thinking and gives them some additional writing and speaking experience. We also need a student to represent our school in the Goldsboro Optimist Club speech contest. This is an excellent opportunity for all of our students. I hope this answers your question.

Hello,
I hope everything is going well for you. It has been a beautiful day. I am trying to understand the assignment for the essay
“Why me, Why not”. Leigh and I been discussing possiblities but the title seems so vague and she is unsure exacting what you are looking for. If her essay does not meet your expectations please let me know so I will have a better understanding as well.

I think the Romeo and Juliet project was a great idea. Nicole had a lot of fun working on it, and I enjoyed looking at the daily progress.
