First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day!
Today students completed Valentine’s Day heart poems in lieu of the daily journal. Displayed on the walls throughout the classroom, we now have a wide variety of decorative hearts filled with similes, metaphors, personifications, and rhymes. These colorful hearts are absolutely beautiful!
Students then worked on finishing their R&J projects. Many have completed the assignment and will present their blogs, PowerPoint ABC books, and digital stories to the entire freshman class tomorrow at Big House in the Tiered Lecture Hall. Thanks also to a few students who have volunteered to share their original sonnets and/or other authors’ sonnets tomorrow during the Shakespeare gala.
To all freshmen: Please do not forget to provide me the link to your blog, uploaded digital story on YouTube, or uploaded PowerPoint presentation on SlideShare. I need these links so that I can embed the code into my blog.
We ended class today by viewing the very beginning of the 1996 film version of Romeo and Juliet starring Leonardo di Caprio and Clare Danes. We’ll finish viewing this film tomorrow.
